Bladder cancer is considered the 'Cinderella' of urological cancers - despite being one of the 10 most common cancers in the UK it has seen far less investment and research compared to many rarer types of cancer. As a result, survival has not dramatically improved over the past 30 years.
With the support of Action Bladder Cancer UK, this free clinic from NB will aim to focus on the diagnostic challenge that exists in Primary Care, highlighting the subtle signs that may point to the existence of bladder cancer. We will review the current referral criteria and the management of visible and non-visible haematuria. Relevant to anyone who ever uses urine dipsticks, this clinic will increase awareness of bladder cancer and work towards improving it's earlier diagnosis.
