The New Continental
ROAD – The A38 Devon Expressway links Plymouth to the motorway network with a drive time from London of approx. 3.5 hours.
Whichever way you come into Plymouth you will find the New Continental Hotel by following the signs clearly signposted for Plymouth Pavilions, our neighbours!
Firstly you will need to follow the signs for Plymouth City Centre. When you are near the city centre follow the brown tourist signs marked “Pavilions”.
RAIL – First Great Western runs a local service to the provinces and their high-speed train service from Paddington takes approx. 3.5 hours. Virgin Cross Country offers direct services to the Midlands, North of England and Scotland.
A gentle walk from the train station will take you approximately 15 minutes; alternatively, there are Taxi Ranks outside that will drop you off at the New Continental Hotel reception for less than £5.00 and takes roughly 5 minutes depending on traffic.
SEA – Brittany Ferries operate roll-on, roll-off ferries to Plymouth from Roscoff in France and Santander in Northern Spain. From Plymouth Ferry Port we are a 13 minute walk away, a 4 minute car journey and 6 minutes by push bike (on the National Cycle Route 27). If you have a large vehicle that requires parking, please do phone in advance.
We have a large car park. capable of parking for over 80 cars. This is on a first-served basis and there is a charge of just £3.00 per day.
Please note that our car park is managed by an external management company ParkingEye, who are members of the British Parking Association and its Approved Operator Scheme. Guests must register their car at reception as if guests fail to do so, the New Continental Hotel can not take responsibility for any Penalty Notice tickets issued if validation is not given upon arrival.
Please note that any parking charges incurred on the day are not included in the course fee.
By attending the course you will earn 6 CPD credits. In each chapter we include a Quality Improvement Ideas box which provides suggestions to stimulate further continuing professional development such as audits and practice development. This additional work can be claimed as CPD credits.
For example, if you highlight improving end of life care as a major area for your PDP for the year ahead and subsequently do 7 hours work of reading the topic, looking at the resources, doing an audit, preparing a presentation, devising a new practice policy/guideline, you can claim a further 7 credits.
